FLK Electric Overhead Travelling Crane

FLK Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) Crane

The FLK Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) Crane is a motor-driven, light-duty workshop crane that operates on overhead rails. It is available in both single-girder and double-girder configurations. It offers a vertical clearance of up to 5 meters, a span of up to 8 meters, and a longitudinal travel distance of up to 30 meters. With a maximum lifting capacity of 15 tons, it is an indispensable piece of heavy-load handling equipment for modern heavy industrial manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, and precision machinery assembly operations.

FLK EOT Crane Rails

The FLK EOT Crane rails serve as the load-bearing structure for the combined weight of the crane and the lifted materials, acting as the track for the crane’s longitudinal movement. Consisting of two parallel rails (left and right) installed overhead in the workshop, they typically span the entire length of the facility. They must be mounted on steel structural supports or concrete walls to bear the weight of the crane girder and the transported loads.

Functions:

  1. Load-bearing
  2. Guiding
  3. Linear travel

FLK EOT Crane Girder

The girder—commonly referred to as the main girder or bridge—connects the left and right rails and moves longitudinally. It supports the hoisting mechanism and serves as a track for it, allowing the hoist to travel laterally across the span and transport loads to any location within the workspace; it is the primary structural component of the overhead crane.

Electric Overhead Travelling Crane Girder

Functions:

  1. Load-bearing structure: Sufficiently robust to support the weight of the materials being lifted. 2. Features a well-designed structure that provides a smooth track for the trolley’s lateral (left-right) movement.
  2. Equipped with wheels on both sides; a motor drives smooth longitudinal (forward-backward) movement.
Material: The FLK crane bridge girder is constructed from high-strength steel capable of withstanding extreme loads; for heavy-duty cranes, auxiliary ribs are welded on to enhance structural strength and load-bearing capacity.

Classification: FLK bridge cranes are categorized into single-girder and double-girder types. Single-girder bridge cranes serve workshops with lighter loads, while double-girder bridge cranes are designed for heavy-duty applications.

FLK EOT Crane Bridge Drive Mechanism

The bridge drive mechanism consists of an enclosed housing that integrates the crane wheels, axles, motor, and cable management system. It is assembled onto both sides of the main girder; the motor drives the mechanism, propelling the girder along the tracks in a forward or backward direction.

Functions:

  1. Supports the entire weight of the girder and transfers the load to the bridge track supports.
  2. Propels the crane and the suspended load, enabling movement across the entire work area.
  3. Equipped with a braking system that ensures precise stopping after operation, preventing accidental movement and enhancing safety.

FLK EOT Crane Hoisting Platform

The hoisting platform is a metal assembly that integrates the power mechanism. Wheels mounted beneath the platform allow it to move laterally along the girder, driven by a motor. The hoisting power unit on the platform drives the lifting mechanism (the component that actually lifts the load) to perform lifting operations.

Functions:

  1. Supports the load weight. 2. Hoisting and lowering materials
  2. Lateral movement
  3. Precise positioning

Classification: FLK offers both top-running (girder-riding) and under-running (underslung) trolley configurations. Neither is inherently superior to the other; the choice depends entirely on the specific application scenario.

FLK EOT Crane Hoisting Mechanism

The hoisting mechanism of an FLK crane consists of several sub-components—including the motor, gearbox, wire rope or chain, rope drum, hook, and brake. Integrated into the material handling assembly, this mechanism serves as the heart of the bridge crane, responsible for the lifting and lowering of loads.

Functions:

  1. The motor drives the gearbox, which rotates the drum to raise or lower the attached wire rope or chain.
  2. The rope/chain and hook form the lifting assembly used to hoist heavy loads.
  3. The brake secures the lifting assembly in place when stationary, preventing accidental drops and ensuring safety.
  4. Components of varying strengths are selected based on lifting requirements to determine the mechanism’s lifting capacity and the crane’s maximum load rating.

FLK EOT Crane Hook

The crane hook is the component that connects directly to the load; its upper end attaches to the wire rope or chain, while its lower end connects to the material being lifted. FLK manufactures various hook models tailored to different types of materials, effectively enhancing operational efficiency.

Functions:

  1. Provides a secure attachment point for the load, utilizing a latch or safety lock to prevent the load from slipping off during lifting.
  2. Designed to withstand high tensile forces from the rope or chain, while offering high resistance to wear and cracking.
  3. Available in diverse styles—including shackles, rope nets, and magnetic lifters—to provide convenient and efficient handling support for a wide range of items. 4. The crane hook is made of high-strength alloy steel, capable of withstanding heavy loads and resistant to wear, cracking, or deformation.

FLK EOT Crane Electrical System

The electrical system comprises all components for power transmission and drive, including cables, motors, inverters, brakes, and control panels.

Functions:

  1. Supplies power to the motors, enabling the crane to move forward and backward, the trolley to move left and right, and the hoist mechanism to raise and lower loads.
  2. Controls motor speed to ensure smooth and precise operation.
  3. Includes an overload alarm system to warn of excessive weight and prevent safety accidents.

FLK EOT Crane Control System:

FLK cranes offer three control methods—an operator’s cabin, a pendant control box, and a radio remote control.

The cabin serves as the control center for the bridge crane, where the operator sits to maneuver the crane.

Pendant controls (handheld push-button units) or radio remote controls are often used as alternatives, particularly for smaller cranes or those operating in confined spaces.

Functions:

  1. Allows the operator to control all crane movements: lifting/lowering loads, moving the trolley, and traveling the crane along the runway.
  2. Provides the operator with a clear view of the load and the surrounding workspace, ensuring safe and precise operation.
  3. Can be equipped with safety features such as emergency stop buttons, load indicators, and alarms to alert the operator to potential hazards.
Radio remote controls offer greater flexibility, allowing the operator to stand in the optimal position to monitor the load without being confined to the cabin.
