FLK Electric Hoist

An electric hoist is a compact, lightweight lifting device that integrates a motor, reduction gear, and drum or sprocket into a single unit. It can be used independently or as the core lifting component of electric single-girder, double-girder cranes, or gantry cranes. Based on the transmission medium and installation method, electric hoists are mainly divided into the following four categories.

Wire Rope Electric Hoist – The Mainstay for Large Tonnage and High Lift

Internal Structure: The wire rope electric hoist mainly consists of a reducer, lifting motor, traveling motor, drum assembly, hook assembly, control box, wire rope, and brake. Its core drive uses a conical rotor motor, integrating power and braking force without the need for an external brake. The lifting mechanism adopts a classic “I”-shaped series structure, with the motor and reducer arranged on opposite sides of the drum assembly. The wire rope is wound orderly within the drum groove through a rope guide.

Application Scenarios: Wire rope electric hoists are commonly used in single-girder bridge cranes and single-girder gantry cranes, holding a dominant position in lifting operations with a capacity of 5 tons or more. They are widely used in factories, mines, ports, warehouses, and precision installation applications.

Lifting Height and Motor Power: Lifting capacity generally ranges from 0.1 to 80 tons, with lifting heights from 3 to 30 meters. Taking the CD1/MD1 model as an example, the lifting capacity covers 0.25 tons to 20 tons, and the lifting height can reach 3 to 30 meters. The MD1 model’s 0.5-ton lifting motor power is 0.2/0.8 kW (dual-speed), the 1-ton model is 0.2/1.5 kW, and the 3-ton model has a lifting motor power of up to 3 kW. The MD1 model supports dual-speed adjustment (0.8/8 meters/minute), with an operating speed of up to 20 meters/minute.

Chain Electric Hoist – Lightweight and Flexible Universal Type

Internal Structure: The electric chain hoist consists of a motor, transmission mechanism (usually a planetary reducer), and sprockets, using an alloy steel chain as the lifting medium. The body is made of high-strength tensile shell or die-cast aluminum shell, using a thin-wall extrusion molding process, resulting in a small size and light weight. The brake uses a disc-type DC electromagnetic brake, providing high braking torque, smooth operation, and low noise. The chain is made of G80 grade alloy steel, treated with high-temperature quenching, making it sturdy and durable.

Application Scenarios: Electric chain hoists are commonly used in cranes under 5 tons, particularly suitable for assembly lines, wind power projects, cantilever cranes, KBK cranes, and other light and small lifting equipment. They are also widely used in docks, factories, warehouses, construction sites, production lines, and for group lifting and welding of large oil and gas tanks, grain silos, etc. They can be installed on suspended I-beams, curved tracks, jib crane guide rails, and fixed lifting points.

Lifting Height and Motor Power: Lifting capacity generally ranges from 0.1 to 100 tons, with lifting heights reaching 3 to 120 meters. Taking the DHY model as an example, the 1-ton model uses a 500W disc motor with a lifting speed of 2.25 meters per minute; the 5-ton model uses a 750W motor with a lifting speed of 0.9 meters per minute; and the 10-20 ton models also use a 750W motor with a lifting speed of 0.45 meters per minute. Common motor power specifications include 0.75kW, 1.5kW, and 3.0kW.

Single-Girder Electric Hoist – Simple and Economical

Internal Structure: The single-girder electric hoist has only one main beam. The hoist is directly suspended upside down on an I-beam rail directly below the main beam and moves left and right on the rail via a trolley. Its lifting mechanism is the electric hoist itself, resulting in a compact structure and low material consumption.

Application Scenarios: Single-girder electric hoists are suitable for applications with lifting capacities generally below 20 tons, commonly used in workshops and warehouses of small and medium-sized enterprises where lifting is infrequent. They are also widely used in single-girder bridge cranes, single-girder gantry cranes, and other equipment.

Lifting Height and Motor Power: Applicable lifting capacities range from 0.5 to 32 tons, spans from 3 to 30 meters, and lifting heights from 6 to 30 meters. For example, a 5-ton single-girder hoist has a lifting motor power of 0.8/7.5kW (dual-speed) and a running motor power of 0.8kW; a 10-ton hoist has a lifting motor power of 1.5/13kW. Advantages include simple structure, ease of use, and relatively low cost; disadvantages include a certain limitation on lifting height.

Double-girder electric hoist – High load capacity, high stability professional type

Internal Structure: Double-girder electric hoists have two parallel main beams. The electric hoist ismounted on a trolley, which runs on a track directly above the main beams. Compared to a single-beam structure, a double-beam electric hoist includes an additional trolley frame with a traveling mechanism. Its lifting mechanism typically uses a winch or a large-tonnage electric hoist.

Application Scenarios: Double-beam electric hoists are suitable for applications with large lifting capacities, and can be used in workshops with frequent operations. The maximum tonnage can reach hundreds of tons. They are widely used in heavy machinery manufacturing, assembly workshops, warehouses, and other places requiring material handling and loading/unloading. The double-beam structure is more stable and versatile than a single-beam structure, and is particularly suitable for large-span, heavy-load conditions.

Lifting Height and Motor Power: Lifting heights are available in various specifications, including 6 meters, 9 meters, 12 meters, and 15 meters. For example, a 10-ton double-beam hoist has a lifting speed of 0.7/7 m/min (dual-speed). Large-tonnage double-beam hoists can have a motor power of up to 35 kW. The advantages are a higher lifting height compared to a single-beam hoist (it can be higher than the height of one beam section at the same height) and smoother operation; the disadvantages are a more complex structure and relatively more maintenance points.

Electric Hoist Selection Recommendations

For loads under 5 tons, prioritize chain electric hoists; for loads over 5 tons, prioritize wire rope electric hoists. For applications with specific lifting height requirements, low-headroom electric hoists can be selected. Choose a single-beam structure for cost-effectiveness, and a double-beam structure for high load capacity and stability. For special environments, consider explosion-proof, metallurgical, and marine-grade models. Selecting the appropriate electric hoist based on actual working conditions is crucial for safe, efficient, and economical lifting operations.
